Olympic NP to Mt Rainier NP

After saying good-bye to the Harold's (& Anderson's), we headed over to the West side of the Olympic National Park. We hiked into the Hoh Rainforest and played on Ruby Beach. We spotted a bald eagle and saw the World's Largest Cedar (not a recommended side trip). After viewing the cedar tree and taking the obligatory pictures, I look back to see Steve leaning into it. I asked what he was doing, and he answered me like it was the clearest thing ever, "I'm hugging it." So sweet.

We finally made it around the Olympic Pennisula and into Mount Rainier National Park. It is a very busy parkk but being a Thursday, we found a spot! The park is beautiful! We camped in Ohanapecosh Campground which is by the rushing Ohanapecosh River. There were beautiful cedars, pines and firs surrounding us. We made it in time for the 8:30p ranger presentation (we have adjusted to Pacific time finally), which was an interesting history of the national park but a horrible presentation. We planned to explore more in the morning.
