Day 3-493 miles, total (so far) 1505 miles
So, we all are still waking up early every morning (which is becoming obvious in Steve's "need-to-sleep-late" demeanor). But when you wake up at 5 or 6 am, you can cover a lot of miles! Since we were so close to Rocky Mountain National Park, we decided to spend the morning exploring the park before getting on the road again. The park was very beautiful and the kids got their 30-something-th Junior Ranger badge. We also drove to the highest point in the park and then back down...Awesome!
For the afternoon, we drove 6 hours clear across Wyoming...b--o--r--i--n--g except for a herd of buffalo, a handful of antelope, and a beautiful red sunset through a haze of wildfire smoke. We camped at a very busy KOA in Sheridan which was weird because I think we only saw about 5 people during our entire drive through Wyoming.
Next stop...Glacier National Park!!
