So, Sam's Birthday was good and bad. He is very excited about being 7 years old & comments daily about all the things he did back when he was just 6. He enjoyed all of his presents, but the day ended on a sour note...Slither had escaped earlier in the day when his friend Johnny was over. He made it into the bookcase & then got crushed when we were looking for him :-( We went to the pet store the next morning to get a new snake & "his heart was stuck" on a black albino.

**Footnote: His first snake was a regular albino (didn't produce black pigment) & this one cannot produce red/orange pigment.
He will probably never forget his 7th birthday where his first snake tragically died. (This is one of the saddest pictures ever :-(
Grammy took Sam to Build-a-Bear where Snow was born (complete with fishing pole, tent & guitar), Maya is with Sassy (her build-a-bear from her 3rd birthday).
While I'm posting, I want to include pictures of a day trip we took to Pedernales Falls State Park. We were blessed with a 70 degree day before an arctic front came through the next day. It was an interesting hike because Maya insisted on wearing her rollerblades down the trail (she actually did very well & I can imagine off-roading inline skating becoming the new Olympic sport), Samuel wanted to bring Snow, tent and all, and Stephen & I were on Day 5 of the Master Cleanse (no food, just lemonade, syrup & cayenne pepper).
