Our 2006 Christmas

We had a very nice Christmas this year.

We were in the middle of moving during last Christmas, so unpacking the ornaments this year led to many forgotten treasures.
Along with the old treasures, Samuel added a new treasure-his partridge that Grandmary bought him at Schoolhouse Earth.

Grammy & Grandpa spent the night of Christmas Eve and were awakened by Samuel a few times in the evening "swearing that he saw the sun coming up." Sadly, it was only 3 am. Samuel awoke Maya & I at 6:45 with very tired looking eyes. Samuel crawled into bed with me and fell back to sleep while Maya went to wake Grammy & Grandpa. At 8am we all awoke together & preceded downstairs.
Maya made sure that Otis was the first one to open any presents. He was soooo excited!
After opening our stockings, Sam & Maya found their presents from Santa Claus & Santa Mouse.

Samuel's present was a baby corn snake

We all had a great time opening presents. By the time my parents' good friends, Steve & Lerae, came over at 11, the kids still had presents to open!

After installing all of the batteries & reading the robot instructions, I began cooking the turkey dinner while Steve, Steve & Dad played Sequence, Mom took a nap, and Samuel, Maya & Lerae watched "Cars."

After dinner, Maya & Grammy began the felt purse sewing kit that Aunt Elizabeth & Uncle "what's his name" sent her.

Our day ended with a few games of Sequence and a very tired Hope family.

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!
