We drove up to see this...

One of the things Norman & family have been working on is the front porch. They removed the plywood ceiling and windows on the South side of the porch. I think the plan is to replace these windows with windows that can open for ventilation into the porch. It looks so good in here, and I can imagine us spending lots of hours relaxing in hammocks watching the rain fall...aaaahhhh...
This is the other side of the porch...

Here, they took the window from the master bedroom and placed it in an opening that was screened in. I think the plan is to drywall the bedroom side and place shelving on the porch side??
So, what else greeted us today? Well, here is the addition prepped for rock and a completed roof...

They put glass window blocks in the new bathroom above the tub...

And replaced the original bedroom windows to match the rest of the house...

They also started clearing out the laundry room...

That's about it with the house. We spent some time scraping paint off the outside trim to start prepping for painting, cut down a medium-sized hackberry tree, searched for a big creek snake that Little Dog scared back into the water, simply sat in the front yard and watched Bella sniff out and with the help of Sam, catch a black squirrel. Yes, you read it right...Bella finally caught a squirrel!! She has spent all of her years with us watching, waiting, and chasing squirrels. In fact, it's her favorite pastime. Today she sniffed out a squirrel in a rock pile, and Samuel helped clear away the rocks and scare it out. And then she caught it! And killed it! It was kind of sad, kind of exciting. We picked out a good spot to start our animal "depository" and thanked the squirrel for sacrificing her life for the utter pleasure of Bella's squirrel hunting heart.
Off to my favorite yoga class...Steve is coming with me tonight! Yes, he will be singing "Hey Yoga Girl" for the next few days...
