I am married to a Fire Specialist!!

Steve has promoted to Fire Specialist! This means he drives and maintains the apparatus, which in Steve's case is a fire engine. He has moved to Station 14 which, as described by his new captain, is the "center of the universe" for all AFD special operations stations because it house the Spec Ops battalion offices. Station 14 is also the hazardous materials hub-station. Station 14's Rescue Truck (which Steve will occasionally drive eventually) is the busiest rescue truck in the city.

(Thank goodness Steve was sitting with me when writing this-whew!)

Here we are at Steve's promotion wagon with most of our Station 20 family. His lieutenant presented him with a personalized vintage style specialist badge at the dinner.


The guys at the station always give hearty goodbyes...here is one...a whipped cream attack.


Here is Steve with Fire Chief Kerr at his badge ceremony. He had a personal meeting with her before the meeting.

We are so proud of him and now I seriously can't comment on his driving anymore!!
