Road Trip 2006 Chapter 5-Lake Arrowhead
After leaving Amanda’s we head up to the San Bernadino Mountains to Lake Arrowhead. We camp at the Dogwood National Forest at about 6000 feet elevation. The drive up the mountain is very slow with a very steep drop off the side of the road called “The Rim of Heaven”. Jason Stevens meets us at the campsite. He and Stephen get up early the next morning to run in the Lake Arrowhead Triathlon. The kids and I wake up a little late, see Stephen running on our way to the race, but miss him crossing the finish line He finishes this very technical, hilly course in 1 hour, 9 minutes. We do get to see Jason finish about 30 minutes later. Way to go guys!!
