Rethinking Education Conference 2006

I want to come back to our site with a whole new attitude (and a lot of new links). We attended the10th annual Rethinking Education Conference in Irving, Texas the first weekend of September. We had a couple of "breather" days after returning home before heading to the conference.

One word...AWESOME!! You can read all about the conference on their website, but for our own personal experience...AWESOME!!

Stephen & I both soaked up so much information on living the "child-directed learning" life. We met lots of cool people & have made some life long friends (Hello, Keeshi & Konstantin :-). We also had a lot of time to be around the teenagers who have been in an emergent learning type of environment all of their lives, which was a cool new experience for me.

This is the woman who really had a huge impact on both of us at the conference. I highly recommend her website, book, tapes, and basically anything she has come into contact with :-)
Brent & Barbara were also keynote speakers at the conference. Stephen & I spent Sunday night with them in the sports bar drinking wine & having an awesome exchange of ideas. They are both amazing people who are doing amazing things for children and the world.
