1st stop...Trudy's Texas Star. We went here mainly for the Mexican margaritas and didn't really know which requirement this would fulfill. When we got onto the outdoor porch, it was obvious that is was the "water" place. They had a million misters blowing water onto the porch...not exactly "feet in the water" but water nonetheless.
2nd stop...this was a surprise to me as Stephen parked us in the City Hall parking lot. We walked into the 2nd Street District to a Wine Bar that was just recently closed (everything still inside, but a lease sign in the window). So, we disappointedly kept walking to find something else. We heard some live music and ventured that way to find another wine bar with live music next door on the sidewalk. We both had a different wine flight, listened to a really great singer-songwriter next door and sweated enough that when the wind blew it felt like air conditioning. By the way...Jargon Pinot Noir 2007...awesome!!! This place also fulfilled the "new" requirement and had adequate people watching.
We then made a final stop to Amy's Ice Cream that didn't fulfill any of the requirements, but was an excellent finale!!
As an added note, this date night was so successful that we talked about having baby #3 join our family all the way home :-)
