Wednesday at the Farm

You can tell Steve & I are excited about moving to the Stearns Ranch, because now both of our date days have included spending time out there. Today, we hiked all around the property. It was a beautiful day to wander about aimlessly, talking.

Here are updated pictures of the house...framed out walls! They put up some walls to the new bedroom, the master bathroom & closet/kitchen, the linen closet & refrigerator. They also made a cathedral ceiling in the master bedroom.

The hill behind the house was terraced and they placed a french drain around the house that held up and drained well during this last big storm. Yay! No more water in the house! The Stearns gave us the project of landscaping the back terrace to keep it from eroding through the Fall rains, so our next date day will consist of digging ;-)

A couple little notes about the pictures: See the cows coming down the hill in the picture with Steve's back to me? Well, we didn't close the gate behind us, so they all meandered into the front yard & we had to wrangle them out. Steve used a great "hee-ya" cattle-wrangling whoop that worked really well, and Bella almost got kicked. (I think they are both naturals at this ranch handlin' business.)

Also, Dad, see the little outbuilding in the background of the picture with Steve facing me? Yep, that's our future Finnish sauna. It has two old Yamaha dirt bikes stored in it right now, so lots of good "energy" stored up in there :)
