So...the Stearns hired a contractor to put the little ranch house back together. They have been working hard in this Texas heat! They tore out a huge tree stump and roots that was encroaching the back wall of the house causing it to leak, as well as, all of the dirt that was burying a quarter of the back wall. The house also now has two new septic tanks, a reinforced roof structure and new framing for the back part of the house. They are now adding on a second bedroom and a second bathroom to the back of the house. One of the pictures (the Blogger app is goofy and lists the pictures in random order each time) is of the original back wall (with the rock removed) that will be added on to. The other picture is from the back of the house looking towards the master bedroom and bathroom. The contractor said 90-120 days until house completion, barring any big unforeseen problems. It is so very exciting!
Stephen spent a day working with Lt Joel moving fallen trees with the skid-steer, trimming up another tree over the road/creek, feeding the cows and hauling/spreading fill dirt. He was dirty and happy when he returned home.
Kim & I are getting together this week to talk more about life at the ranch and the future Nutty Brown Farm.
I'll try to update you every week now that things (the contractor) are moving so fast!
