TEXAS!!

Last week, our Camp Fire club met on the lawn of the Texas State Capitol to talk about.....TEXAS!  We had a fun tour of the Visitor's Center and waved our ten gallon hats goodbye to our friends before heading over to the capitol building.

Being the only ones waiting for the last tour of the day, our family of 4 got a personalized tour of the capitol building.  Our tour guide was very enthusiastic and very knowledgeable.  I learned more than I ever did in my Texas History classes in grade school!  It was also fun to sit in the House Gallery and watch the legislature in progress.

We finished off the day with a few pictures and dinner at Waterloo Ice House.  (Did you know that the settlement in Austin before it was called Austin was called Waterloo?)

Now my East Coast husband who is actually Texan enough to piss Shiner is now Texan enough to piss Shiner while wielding his rattlesnake lasso!
