And just today I noticed about 20 Monarch caterpillars on my huge flowering parsley plants! I don't use parsley very much in cooking, but now that I know that the Monarch caterpillars like them, I will continue to plant it every year.

Our Backyard Ecosystem
We have quite a little ecosystem going in our backyard this spring. For the start of Spring, we watched a family of blue jays with three babies grow up. We have also had numerous other birds frequenting our pond and yard, too. Then I noticed 4 volunteer cherry tomato plants coming up around the yard. And just today I noticed about 20 Monarch caterpillars on my huge flowering parsley plants! I don't use parsley very much in cooking, but now that I know that the Monarch caterpillars like them, I will continue to plant it every year.
