Monday I was grateful for Chinese plastic (for once!) Samuel has been wanting to make a Speed Racer car with grand ideas of doing some crazy building on a real car. I suggested a model car as a jumping off point, and thanks to the internet...I found a Speed Racer model car! It came in the mail Monday, so construction began. It was a Level 2 model, so Samuel needed rubber cement to assemble the car. Stephen, Samuel and Maya ran up to Michael's Craft Store for the supplies, and Maya came home with a model police car. We all worked for the next few hours on the models. It was great fun! It brought back fond memories for Stephen assembling an aircraft carrier with his father when he was about 5 years old.
