Thanks to my good friend, Carmen a.k.a. Master Blogger, you can all take a peek at our life whenever you are so inclined. Creating a blog site also conveniently relieves me of the responsibility to e-mail everyone with a family update :-) So, here it begins...

So, to catch everyone up on our lives...
After living 2 years in Dripping Springs, TX on 1 acre we moved into the Austin city limits on .13 acres in late December of 2005. We now live 3 blocks away from Stephen's firestation in a quaint little community called Sendera. Stephen can walk to work, and he is still protecting us on his nights spent at the station. I immediately dived into the "South Austin" homeschooling community, and if I dare say, specifically the "unschooling" community. We have met some really good friends & actually feel like we have at least doubled the number of immediate family members :-) Maya (4) started a homeschooling gymnastics class, and Sam (6) has started playing Kindersoccer at the YMCA. Between park days, staying busy at home, visiting Grammy & Grandpa, and taking any field trips available, we stay busy throughout the week. Stephen just passed his Relief Driver Exam after about 6 months of classes and studying. He can now be a "substitute" driver of an engine (known as the pumper to us laymen). He will start his classes for Relief Ladder Driver soon. In the meantime, he is busy planning a backyard treehouse/fort, upgrading his workbench to extend all along one wall of the garage, building me a lovely storage bench for our foyer, working as many extra fire hours as possible, and, as of tonight, running for a board position on our neighborhood HOA. He also mentioned to me that triathlon season is starting up again! Our Texas summer weather is starting to set in (85 degrees today) and our pool will open April 1st. So, with bathing suits and sunscreen ready, bring on the heat!

That's a fine looking family. As a matter of fact, that is the best relief driver family i've seen. Now, i don't know if it's a relief to the rest of us firefighters that steve is driving but it's a relief that he's finished his class. Congrats Steve for finishing and Erica for being his energy.

What a nice way to keep in touch, even tho I talk to you at least once a day!!!Congrats to Our wonderful son-in law(that is really too formal for Stephen)--on passing his test and his first shift in charge of the engine--good work. And congrats to Erica for being such a wonderful mother, wife, daughter and friend--I LOVE YOU!!, your mom!

This is great! We arrived home late Sunday and were not even aware that Erica was working so hard to keep all of us in touch...THANKS! Congratulations to Stephen..you passed...WHEW! What a relief!!!
