We had a nice and quiet Christmas and New Year's Eve, with Steve & Sam's birthdays party being the highlight of our holiday season. Stephen's mom, stepdad, sister and brother flew in from Pennsylvania and North Carolina to camp for a few days prior to the party, with my parents joining the camping party later. Then sixty of some of our closest family and friends braved the wintry weather to celebrate with us on party day. I didn't get many pictures because I lost the camera before the party started and my portable devices do not have flashes. But here are some...
My boys...

Uncle Robbie (a city boy playing farm boy) helping cut firewood...

The spread presented in the porch...

The fire, the smoker and some bundled up buddies...

One of the many hay rides with happy hay riders...

A clip from the hay ride finale...
The cow patty cake with FORTY candles...

The Hope siblings...

I just found this picture...
Stephen & Maya have taken a strong interest in rock climbing lately. Here is Maya at the gym with some of her new gear (chalk bag, harness & shoes).

On the farming front, Kim & I are now official members of the Association of Specialty Cut Flower Growers!!!! Needless to say, we are both chomping at the bit to get started on the farm!

And, finally, the ranch house update...Electricity & Insulation!!! Joel & Kim chose spray insulation for the vapor barrier and added stability for the old rock walls. I never knew how excited I could be about insulation, but it is awesome! Next week the HVAC will be installed and possibly the beginning of drywall! Can you tell by the amount of exclamation marks I placed that we are getting very excited about the move-in date getting closer?!?!?!

The kiddos have been sick, sick, sick, so please send them some wellness wishes!!
Until the next update, happiness and laughter wishes to you....
